Richard C. Hedrick

  I came to Hampton Day School in my senior year. I was part of the first graduating class on June 11th, 1970. I am married with one child. I live with my family northwest of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

  I finished college with a triple major of Biology, Education, and Computer Science. I was a Secondary Education Biology Teacher, thanks in large measure to Tony Hitchcock. I only did that for a very short time, though recently I did some substitute teaching. I ended up teaching programming for a large computer firm for several years. I then went into programming and am still doing that. In the last couple of years I started doing web site design. I got into web design in 2004 for the volunteer Ridge Fire Company #1, Station 62 I joined 2003.

  I joined the fire company thinking that "I CAN WASH TRUCKS AND FLOORS". I like teaching so "I CAN HELP/DO FIRE PREVENTION"!! Next thing I know I'm a Fire Policemen, Fire Police Secretary, Assistant Company Secretary, Tour/Fire-Prevention Coordinator/Instructor, and web master.

  Then, to make sure I have no spare time, I got my National Fire Fighter I certification May 2006! Since then I've also taken over doing the web site for the Chester County Fire Police Association and joined a second volunteer fire company, Ludwigs Corner Fire Company, Station 73.

  January 1st, 2009 I added Fire Police Captain to my list of duties at the fire house. I had been Sergeant for a couple of years.
